The Delaware County Park Police Department provides a comprehensive training program to all newly hired officers as well as Continued Law Enforcment Education (CLEE) to existing officers to ensure that our department remains as up to date as possible. The Delaware County Park Police Training Division is comprised of officers and supervisors each of which providing a specific role and responsibility in educating and training new officers within the department.

Newly hired officers receive training in areas such as:

  • Criminal law
  • Case law
  • De-escalation skills
  • Defensive tactics
  • Less than lethal options
  • Firearms
  • Emergency vehicle operations
  • Basic first aid

Existing officers receive continued training annually in areas such as:

  • Criminal Law
  • Case Law
  • Firearms
  • Basic first aid

The above examples are just a few of the areas in which officers receive training. Training is also offered to and attended by officers annually by organizations such as the Delaware County Police Chief's Association, the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, the Delaware County Community College, surrounding counties training centers, and multiple other venues. Officers and Supervisors continuously attend courses and seminars that enables them to gain new and special skillsets to better benefit the Delaware County Park Police Department. As with anything in policing, the Delaware County Park police Department is continuously evolving and adding to its training standards to ensure that we produce the best officers we are able to provide to the citizens we serve.
